Are you always on the lookout for fun and safe ways to ignite your child’s creativity? If so, you’ve come to the right place!
As a single mother to a wonderful little boy who struggles with sensory processing disorder, I’ve grown to understand the importance of providing an environment for my son where he feels safe and secure enough to explore, a place where his individuality and creativity can thrive, and he feels free to express himself.
My son is what you would call a kinesthetic learner. This means he learns best by utilizing his sense of touch and movement.
As his sole provider and mother, I have made it my mission to understand his needs, and to find fun and creative ways to encourage him to continuously experiment with different textures, smells etc.
Together we discovered the joy of creating and exploring through sensory-friendly crafts and hands-on activities, turning everyday items into opportunities for learning and bonding.
For us crafting together isn’t about the finished artwork or the end result. It’s about the entire journey, and our growth getting there. It’s about the laughter that fills the room as we get messy with paint, the sense of accomplishment when we complete a project together, and the memories we create along the way. It’s about the parent-child bond that we have built through play and utilizing our creativity,
Although your crafting journey may be for different reasons, I encourage you to also shift your focus from the finished artwork and creating the perfect end result and instead, just enjoy the moments.
